This year’s EBAday conference was held in mid-June in Munich, Germany. Always a well-attended, EBAday is a two-day conference hosted by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra, and sponsored by financial institutions across Europe. The 2018 agenda covered transaction banking, payments, innovation, emerging technologies, and other key topics. I had the privilege of moderating a main stage strategic roundtable titled “Fast-Track to the Future: How to Keep Up with Ever-Accelerating Transformation in Transaction Banking.”

My panelists were:

  • Simon Eacott, Head of Innovation & Business Development, Payments at NatWest
  • Christian Rhino, Divisional Board Member, Group Banking Operations, Commerzbank
  • Robert Wassmer, Strategy Project Digitalization, Helaba – Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen

The goal of the session was to discuss key drivers transforming transaction banking and offer suggestions on how, and what, bankers and solution providers can do to fast-track innovation.
