Metromile, a market leader in pay-per-mile auto insurance, has built the leading insurtech by creating a sophisticated Claims AI platform on top of standard claims management software. In 2018, Metromile started licensing the Claims AI platform to other insurers and has a number of successful deployments across the world.
The Metromile’s Claims AI platform consists of a suite of three products. Report, a digital first notice of loss product includes a customer facing experience and a back office solution that allows call centers to reduce total call volume and increase customer satisfaction. Detect, a machine learning based fraud solution scans all incoming claims and detects the likelihood of fraud. It enables claims handlers and SIUs to understand the machine learning predictions to reduce loss leakage. Finally, Streamline is an AI based claims process automation engine that automates tasks to improve back-office efficiency. This suite of products helps insurance carriers reduce loss leakage, decrease operating costs, and improve customer experience. Insurers can choose to deploy each product in phases, thereby gradually enjoying the benefits of AI without dealing with the enormous complexity of a large-scale digital transformation.
