Celent received 82 submissions for its annual Model Bank awards. 16 initiatives have been chosen as finalists across five categories.

Now in its seventh year, Celent accepted nominations for its annual Model Bank awards during the fall of 2013. The initiatives chosen as finalists highlight best practices in each of their respective categories.A panel of analysts reviewed all nominations based on three criteria:

1. Degree of innovation.
2. Technology of integration excellence.
3. Measurable, quantitative business results achieved.

“This has been a banner year for Model Bank participation,” says Bob Meara, Senior Analyst with Celent’s Banking Group. “This year’s submissions are more global than ever, with 35% from EMEA, 23% from Asia, and 42% from North America.”

“Nominated initiatives mirror what’s happening industrywide,” adds Stephen Greer, analyst with Celent’s Banking Group. “The significant majority of nominations aligned with omnichannel and legacy system transformation initiatives.”

Winners in each category, along with the Celent Model Bank of the Year 2014, will be announced at an awards ceremony during Celent’s annual Innovation & Insight Day Conference in New York on April 3, 2014. View details and register at
