As analysts, we often get invited to speak at various conferences and client events. It is a privilege we don't take for granted, and always strive to have fresh and insightful content to share. However, this year, there was one topic that clearly rose above all others in terms of client demand - embedded finance. The report we published earlier this year, Demystifying Embedded Finance: Promise and Peril for Banks, struck a chord with many, as banks and technology companies grapple with this emerging trend.
OpenWay, one of the leading payment software providers, recently had their annual client event, OpenWay Club, in Dubrovnik, Croatia. OpenWay kindly invited me to join the event and help demystify embedded finance for their audience. Given the ongoing challenges with international travel, we agreed to record my perspectives as a video interview.
On October 1st, I met with Rob Manderson, OpenWay's Director of Partnerhips, in our London office. Our conversation was captured on video, which was then played on the main stage during Day 2 of OpenWay Club. According to the organisers, embedded finance and open banking "were the most discussed topics at the event".
