John Dwyer
John Dwyer has spent many years understanding the plumbing of the legacy financial system and the potential for the new blockchain-based financial system which is emerging. He always aims to be ahead of the curve for how public blockchains will evolve. When he's not busy providing a framework for clients to understand what is happening in the world of cryptocurrencies and digital assets, you'll find John mixing his own sets of music or curled up with a good book.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY / WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I grew up in North Wales and Cheshire, England. I currently reside in East Sussex & London.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CITY/PLACE YOU’VE TRAVELED?
Buenos Aires. I went there for my honeymoon. I understand that they have a great crypto-community so I may have to go there on a work-related trip.
FAVORITE ANIMAL?
My CryptoKitties (just kidding)
Any Pets?
We live in the country and our daughter has three chickens (who bring us organic eggs each morning).
FAVORITE HOBBY?
Science fiction. I actually find this useful as a tool to help think about the enormous technological change which is underway right now.
Favorite Music?
I have a broad range of music interests and mix my own sets on special occasions.
Favorite Food / Dish?
So hard to decide, but as I am writing this I could murder a Thai Green Curry.
What do you enjoy about being an analyst?
There is a big knowledge gap, and increasingly there will be a strategy gap for those clients that don't respond. I aim to close that knowledge gap for clients.
What advice would you give to someone joining the industry?
The only advice I have is get involved — there is so much information out there that, if you invest the time, then you can become well-informed.
