Dan Latimore
Daniel Latimore has been a part of Celent’s senior management team for six years. He has a wide range of experience and brings examples from outside financial services to help banks improve their customer relationships, with a particular emphasis on technology and culture. When he's not busy helping clients discover the impact of technology, you'll find Dan traveling with wife Rebecca and two daughters, Madeline and Claire.

The most beautiful places I've been are Cornwall and Bali.
Favorite animal?
I'm a dog person. I have two dogs (of course), Gus and Jasper (big and little)
FAVORITE HOBBY?
I'm an inveterate squash player
Favorite Band/Music?
I'm learning a lot more about jazz these days.
FAVORITE FOOD DISH?
The local specialty in whatever country I'm in.
What's your story?
I'm a financial services mutt. Out of college, I worked for Merrill Lynch in investment banking. I had the chance to live in New York, Tokyo, and London over seven years. After consulting at McKinsey and doing M&A for Liberty Mutual, I had the chance to join a strategy consulting firm called Mainspring. IBM bought us in 2001 after the dot-com crash, and I co-led the Institute for Business Value. After nine years at IBM I moved to head Deloitte Research - then Celent. Being a part of the core business is far preferable to being a cost center!
What Do You Enjoy About Your Work?
Banks can help people lead better financial lives. I'm passionate about helping them do that, using technology to make a fair return. I like to think that empathy -- putting ourselves into our client's shoes -- is something that pays huge dividends to us as analysts, and to bankers.
