      REPORT
      Getting to “Yes” with AI
      Overcoming the Barriers to Adoption in Insurance Organizations
      6th January 2026
      //Getting to “Yes” with AI

      In many ways, agentic AI in 2025 is reminiscent of GenAI in 2023. Excitement, uncertainty, but also tangible capabilities being developed–and certainly huge potential. The adjacent headlines give just a small sample of the AI pulse in insurance.

      Beyond the headlines, large insurers are also typically the pioneers of new technologies. This report focuses on Celent’s annual Dimensions Survey results inclusive of Tier 1 through Tier 5 North American insurance companies.

      This report acknowledges the advances in GenAI and agentic AI in DevOps and the development function (after all, the technology companies building AI prioritize how technology itself is built, and insurance companies are reaping the benefits). However, this report is primarily focused on AI across the insurance value chain.

      In addition to identifying adoption trends of advanced AI technology (including GenAI and agentic AI), Celenthas also asked insurers about the blockers and barriers, and ways of addressing these to scale AI across the enterprise. These will be addressed in subsequent sections of this report.
