      Recent excitement over digital lending and newer FinTech innovation has been focused on customer engagement at the point of sale (POS – and not to be confused with retail payment systems!).Loan origination is certainly an area in need of continuous improvement.However, while account origination starts there, it doesn’t end there.Approving, contracting, and serving customers requires back office loan origination systems (LOS) and ancillary technology for full customer engagement, shorting loan processing times, and reducing costs.

      The LOS continues to be an able workhorse for back office processing, but new business and technology requirements are altering what the LOS needs to do, what functionality other systems can do instead of the LOS, and how the systems interoperate.
