January is an exciting month at Celent. With the 2023 Celent Model Bank winners chosen, the analyst team is busy interviewing the soon-to-be announced winners, writing compelling case studies of their initiatives and preparing content for our annual Innovation and Insight Day virtual event scheduled for 29 March. Every year we are impressed by the sheer scale of efforts to innovate and transform financial services, and are grateful that so many financial institutions (FIs) take time to share their success stories with us.
After long deliberations, the Banking judges chose to recognise 18 winners of the following Celent Model Bank 2023 awards:

Marketplace Banking — for the most interesting or comprehensive implementation leveraging a marketplace banking model
Open Banking — recognizing initiatives that leverage an open ecosystem to deliver superlative customer value
Product Innovation — recognizing industry-leading examples of product innovation in retail or corporate banking
Embedded Banking — recognizing embedded banking initiatives that deliver win-win outcomes for banks and their customers
Embedded Fintech — recognizing exceptional embedding of fintech to enhance an institution's value delivery
Customer Centered Innovation — recognizing initiatives that manifest uniquely costomer-driven innovation
Payments Innovation — recognizing truly innovative payments initiatives in retail or corporate banking
Supporting Customers in Time of Need — recognizing institutions going above and beyond to help customers in their time of need
Payments Processing — for the most interesting or comprehensive implementation in payments processing.
Digital Transformation — for deep digital, end-to- end transformation efforts that deliver compelling business value
Finally, we will announce Celent's Model Bank of the Year, our crown jewel award, which recognises one financial institution that in any given year simply stands out from the crowd through one or several initiatives.
