Socially responsible investing (SRI) has attracted an estimated 13% of the assets under professional management in the United States, amounting to more than $8 trillion, according to a 2022 report from the U.S. Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment. These investments rely on accurate screening methods that better determine the actual ESG criteria of these assets. This case study report examines Western Asset's Model Award for their development of an advanced SRI screening tool.
