Mobile has been used in various aspects of auto insurance in China. Some insurance companies provide car insurance purchase via mobile app or WeChat. Beside policy related service such as policy inquiry and claims inquiry, insurers also provide many car and location related services to all prospects, no matter if they are clients or not. Auto insurance claims field investigation staffs in many companies are now equipped with mobile devices such as mobile phones or tablets with applications built-in to support their loss assess activity. After providing field staff with mobile devices, some companies decide to introduce mobile apps for customers to deal with the claims process. Some of the apps includes a self-claim function.

In this webinar, Wenli Yuan, senior analyst with Celent’s Asian Financial Services group, examines the mobile apps and WeChat account that are currently used by insurance companies in auto insurance sales, service, and claims. This presentation draws on material from the upcoming Celent report “Mobile Usage in Auto Insurance in China”.
