The Private Banking and Family Office Latin Forum took place this week in Miami. Excellent conference to network and hear ideas from distinguished members of the Private Banks and Family Offices in both the US and Latin America, serving this exclusive set of customers. While there were many topics of interest during the three day conference, there was one that particularly caught my attention: the creation of a "PR" business social network. There is a company that has created exactly this, an online network where institutions, members, and users can meet and create business opportunities. This is a private network where members can see other members or institutions signed up with the network and can share information with them such as traveling schedules, referrals, knowledge. Institutions provide the knowledge they want to share with users, and members refer users to institutions and share expertise. Users will be the ones benefiting from the interaction with the institutions. Overall a very interesting concept. I will have to explore it more myself to be able to make a final judgement, but seems to me that today most people rely on recommendations to buy a product... so once again here technology is enabling this collaboration and business opportunity to happen.
