Abstract

This report looks at the only partially realized potential for a variety of connected home devices to mitigate or prevent losses.

A good place to start is by looking at three concepts: hazards, hazard mitigation, and two types of connected home connectivity (internally connected, internally-and-externally).

The end game for insuring connected homes is to make better pricing, underwriting, and claims decisions. Five steps lead to improving those decisions.
