A Survey of Financial Services Firms

Key research questions

  • How have your business goals changed?
  • How have IT budgets changed?
  • What are the top priorities in the new normal?

Abstract

Celent continues to conduct online surveys and individual interviews with financial institutions and IT vendors to understand the impact of the pandemic on the financial industry in Japan and APAC. This paper provides insights, implications, and recommendations for adapting IT to the new normal through the results and analysis of the survey “IT Priorities in a Post-Pandemic World,” conducted through August 2021.

The previous survey finding of July 2020 was that “leading financial institutions have already begun updating their IT roadmaps to adapt to the new normal.”

Celent sums up the findings of the survey in Japan and APAC, one year after the pandemic, by saying, “The gear shift from ‘survive’ to ‘thrive’ is clear. Financial services and financial IT companies are beginning to use IT as an enabler to change their business organizations.”
