Exploring Three Capital Markets Use Cases
Abstract
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a shared database which is spread across multiple participants on a decentralized network and records transactions among those network participants.
The benefits of DLT are that it can reduce the cost of trust between participants very significantly and decrease reliance upon intermediaries for executing transactions. In the capital markets, network participants can work from common datasets in real time, leading to faster transaction settlement, reduced costs, adoption of the cloud, and streamlined operations.
