GenAI has rocketed from moonshot to reality. To flesh out the reality for banks, Celent surveyed bank executives regarding their sentiment toward GenAI, their state of adoption by area, their view of expected performance improvement and impact by use case, and their technology approach, as well as the key success factors they have identified through their recent experience.

Survey participants tended to be innovation frontrunners and hence are ahead on the GenAI adoption curve compared to the majority of banks. Nevertheless, the striking finding is that these banks have crossed the adoption chasm, pushing past the early adopter phase into the early majority phase.
