      REPORT
The Innovation Paradox in Life and Health Insurance
A Review Through the Lens of Model Insurers
      29th June 2021
//The Innovation Paradox in Life and Health Insurance

From our first Model Insurer awards to today, the approach Celent takes to identify Model Insurers is to find best practices in the use of technology across various areas of the industry. When we began the program, we looked at the initiatives as components of the product and policyholder lifecycle. More recently, we have viewed initiatives within five themes: data analytics, digital, innovation execution, legacy transformation, and customer experience.

This report looks at hundreds of submissions to determine the direction of innovation in life insurance and to provide a benchmark along the different areas of the insurance value chain. Our analysis considers not only how the initiative impacts this value chain, but also the systems and technology methods used.
