      REPORT
Ranking the Vendors of Financial Planning Technology 2008
      21st November 2008
//Ranking the Vendors of Financial Planning Technology 2008

New York, NY, USA November 24, 2008

The financial planning industry is evolving and will continue to have an important role in the wealth management arena. Celent expects further collaboration between financial planning vendors and broader wealth management platforms.

Over the last few months, the evolving financial market crisis has led many wealth management organizations to consider the implications on products, advisors, clients, and the dynamic of the industry as a whole. At the same time, it has focused much attention on the way clients are managed.

"Considerable emphasis has been placed on communicating with clients more frequently to review their financial situations, confirm the wisdom of their asset allocation and current holdings, and convince them to get back into the market. This is when financial planning systems come into the picture as part of the solution," says Isabella Fonseca, Celent senior analyst and author of the report.

In a new report, Ranking the Vendors of Financial Planning Technology 2008, Celent examines 11 leading vendors in the North American financial planning market. The following vendors are included: AdviceAmerica, Advisor Software, CGI, EISI, Impact Technologies, Money Tree, NorthStar, PIEtech, PlanPlus, SunGard, and Thomson Reuters.

The report begins with an overview of how the wealth management market has evolved in the past 18 to 24 months, as well as a vendor preview of the main financial planning vendors in the space. A detailed profile for each vendor follows, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their solutions. Also included in the study is a vendor comparison section, which evaluates each solution’s features and functionalities. The vendors are also ranked using Celent’s ABCD Vendor View.

The report is 84 pages long and contains 17 figures and 38 tables. A table of contents is available online.
