Over the last couple of years, cloud adoption has improved significantly in the insurance sector. Many insurers have either started moving their application to the cloud or are planning to do so. Successful cloud adoption depends on many internal and external factors, such as the current state of the IT landscape, skill set availability in the organisation, regulatory and data protection requirements in the jurisdiction, the commitment of the management, the strategic direction of the organisation, cloud vendors in the regions, and more.

This research intends to develop a deeper understanding of the financial and practical implications insurers face when considering moving some or all of their application and data within the cloud and the practices followed.
