Mobile Money - The Emerging Payment Ecosystem, commissioned by HPS and produced by Aite Group, outlines how mobile money provides a road to financial inclusion for billions of unbanked people in emerging markets.

The paper will illuminate how a new payment ecosystem can be developed using mobile money, converting cash into stored-value funds accessible through a mobile device. Mobile money enables a wide variety of use cases, including person-to-person (P2P) payments, payments at the point-of-sale, e-commerce payments, and cross-border remittances.

The astonishing growth of mobile payments in China (although not formally defined as mobile money) is analysed to present a framework with recommended actions for the further digitization of mobile money programs around the world. This framework can be used to assess existing implementations of mobile money. In this white paper, the framework is applied to the example of Morocco.
