Talkspace was founded in June 2012 with the primary goal of making behavioral therapy accessible, more available and less stigmatic than ever before. Since that time Talkspace has continually evolved and is the industry leader in online therapy and emotional wellness. The Company began with a focus on consumer markets and has had over a million users. In 2015, Talkspace expanded into the enterprise markets. Talkspace works closely with some of the world’s largest organizations who want to provide best in class benefits to their members/employees and who recognize the impact of providing confidential, convenient access to behavioral healthcare on productivity and total medical cost.

Talkspace unlimited messaging therapy is a fully integrated, HIPAA certified, technological platform with a national, credentialed network of licensed providers trained to use the platform as their “Digital Therapy Office.” The platform is equipped with tools for training, education, client progress tracking, extensive data science research tools for better diagnosis and client progress; data storage of consent, emergency information and clinical progress notes. Talkspace has a fully functioning national network across the United States who deliver online, virtual therapy for a variety of behavioral conditions. Clients can even get psychiatry services via the Talkspace platform.

New in 2020, Talkspace Digital EAP leverages Talkspace’s market leading unlimited messaging therapy services and provides the core EAP services – financial wellness, legal advice, work-life planning, manager resources, and emergency/crisis support – wrapped in an easily accessible digital portal for employees and managers alike. Digital EAP brings Talkspace’s digital disruption strategy to the EAP market, providing direct digital service access & triage, same-day start, interactive wellness tools, and performance guarantees.

Business continuity planning

Since Talkspace is a teletherapy service, business continuity during catastrophic events is something that the business is uniquely prepared for. Our performance guarantees are not reliant upon us operating from our in-person office, and we are fully prepared to offer our services with normal performance guarantees should catastrophic events arise - COVID-19 or otherwise.

Sample performance guarantee: Talkspace may agree to put up to 1% of PEPM fees at risk based on pricing model. Service level metrics may include: implementation milestones and Go-Live target date, platform Uptime at 99%, Customer Service response within one business day for 95% of all inquiries submitted to a dedicated email box, Talkspace network availability (providing three available therapists at the time of request or within 1 business day) target is 97%, Outcomes (Experience, Effectiveness and Access), assuming minimum participation thresholds met. Minimum participation threshholds include: 60% of treatment completers (with a baseline score that allows for improvement), will show symptom improvement on subsequent clinical scale assessment(s), 60% of users completing a WOS baseline and one or more follow-ups will show improvement in one or more areas, User satisfaction target is 85% satisfaction (defined as 3 or higher on a 5 point scale).
