Meru Health is a mental health provider that developed technology to enhance and scale mental healthcare. Meru's program is designed to clinically TREAT depression, anxiety, and burnout (highest risk, highest cost employees). It is a 12-week program that is discreetly accessed by employees through a digital app (smartphone) with daily (Mon-Fri) support from a dedicated clinical therapist (via group chat, private chat and telephonic) along with interaction with an anonymous peer support group. This DAILY access to their personal therapist has proven to significantly improve the engagement and outcomes of employees throughout the program. The program consists of evidence-based psychotherapy (cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, behavioral activation therapies, and self-regulatory/resiliency practices), as well as sleep and nutritional coaching for optimal brain health. Assessments utilizing the PHQ-9, GAD-7, and WPAI are used to determine qualification and to gauge symptom improvement throughout the program. The therapist conducts patient follow-ups at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after the completion of the program. Summary reports and future treatment recommendations are provided to the participants' care team for the continuation of care. To date, the average completion rate of the Meru Health program is 89% - well beyond industry standards. Of those who complete the program, 76% achieve clinically meaningful symptom reduction. Also, because employees are empowered with new skills, we see symptom improvement continue even at 6 and 12 months after program completion. Finally, the Meru Health program outcomes are demonstrating better results than traditional 1:1 therapy or antidepressants. We are embracing innovation to help deliver better behavioral health results to employees and their employers.
