GBST Syn∽Finance

GBST Syn∽Finance offers a powerful, flexible and fully featured securities trading ledger with additional functionality for commission assignment and financial transaction tax accounting.

Key Features

Flexible, rules-based design

Designed using modern rules-driven technology, Syn∽Finance is a comprehensive accounting solution for all trading activity. By using rules, corporate accounting policy and local reporting policies can be implemented to cater for all necessary finance and regulatory reporting requirements. This includes the ability to manage multiple P&L policies as well as IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting policies.

With its flexible rules engine, Syn∽Finance ensures all business is correctly accounted for by creating postings into one or more ledgers based on trading activity. The system also provides:

  • Support for intercompany accounting
  • Integration with standard corporate GL systems
  • Accounting for commission attribution and sharing arrangements including integration with external reporting tools and payroll systems
  • Accounting for financial transaction taxes (FTT)

Advanced commission management

In addition to its powerful trading ledger features, Syn∽Finance simplifies the calculation, attribution and accounting for commission sharing agreements and retail commission assignment. Commission assignments are calculated in real time based on internal trading activity and cash flow feeds from any upstream system.

Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) Engine

Available as a standalone solution or as an add-on to Syn∽Finance, Syn∽ FTT is designed specifically for calculating, reporting and paying global financial transaction taxes. This gives you the ability to process FTT across business lines, asset classes and regions.
