The one thing that perhaps that unites every customer at every bank is the need to make payments. Yet for many years banks treated payments as a back office utility - and many banks only invested what they absolutely had to. Yet if banks now see payments as being critical, then banks need to decide what is the most appropriate technology approach. Should they rely on their core banking supplier or should they be looking to something more sophisticated?
