Fintech is changing rapidly, in part due to an abundance of innovation springing up in Asia. At the FinovateAsia 2016 conference, held in Hong Kong in November 2016, Celent identified 11 firms whose innovations stood out among the rest.

Fintech is still in its developmental stages. Reflecting this reality, only five of the firms profiled in this report are headquartered in Asia. The remaining six are European and US companies.

This report will investigate the following:

      • Several innovative data services presented at FinovateAsia involved using the cloud and advanced analytics to create new types of market data in the securities and investments space.
      • Innovations in digital channels unveiled at FinovateAsia included payment service hubs, intelligent cards, conversational banking, mobile cards, and location-based services.
      • Service providers and technology vendors that want to provide innovative products should consider cloud-based services, AI-based services, and innovations in digital customer touchpoints.
