Update to the Report Not your Grandfather's Wealth Manager: Digitizing the Legacy Platform

This report, now titledThe Front Office Is Powered By The Back: Optimizing Workflow Via Document Management, has been updated in light of recent consulting activity to reflect a focus on document management systems. It includes a taxonomy of providers ranging from specialists like Doxim to Hyland, Alfresco and other horizontally focused firms.

In thematic terms, it seeks to highlight the degree to which back-office processes drive front-office effectiveness, while making explicit the interconnectedness of technology solutions often understood (and marketed) as separate tools. RPA, for example, is a component of a larger process that starts with the extraction of information from documents and concludes with their archiving and distribution.

Coordination across technology platforms and silos is a defining element of the modern document management system. Clearly, channelling information from paper into the workflow is a compelling benefit, and so is the ability to search documents across the organization. The ability to update discrete or loosely connected systems across the enterprise in a single keystroke represents the real game changer, however.
