Ultra-secure Cloud services for businesses go live

A range of ultra-high security Cloud computing services for businesses – from small firms to large enterprises – goes live today, delivered by data centre operator MigSolv.

The new services provide companies with access to virtual IT systems in MigSolv’s highly secure data centre, without any need to buy and maintain their own equipment.

The services also provide US companies operating in Europe – but without their own European data centres – with a solution to the data transfer restrictions of the European Court of Justice’s recent ‘Safe Harbour’ ruling.

MigSolv’s three new Cloud computing options are:

1. Public Cloud – a flexible, low-cost service designed for small companies. 2. Private Managed Cloud – for larger companies with more demanding data processing requirements. 3. Hybrid Cloud – for companies needing, or who desire, a mixed approach.

MigSolv is providing these Cloud options in addition to its existing ‘colocation’ services, where it houses companies’ own IT equipment within its data centre.

The company is delivering the new services in partnership with Cloud specialist Ormuco – an HP Helion Network Partner with three million customers worldwide. Ormuco has installed its specialised Cloud systems within MigSolv’s data centre.

1. Public Cloud: MigSolv’s Public Cloud service is a flexible, low-cost way for small businesses to access the technology they need. They rent virtual systems based in MigSolv’s data centre, managing their configuration themselves.

To set up a Public Cloud service, companies simply need to create an online profile, select the technology they need and pay by credit card. This gives them immediate control via an online dashboard, enabling them to alter their configuration quickly and easily from any device with an Internet connection. They can even switch the service on and off according to their immediate needs.

2. Private Managed Cloud: This is a large-scale Cloud environment for companies with more complex, demanding data processing and storage needs.
