David manages Celent's Securities & Investments practice. His expertise lies in capital markets technology and FinTech.

David's research focuses on themes of strategic importance in the capital markets sector, including the evolution of market structure, the development of electronic trading, the changing ecosystem of technology solutions, and innovation. Recent bespoke work involves advising clients on developing new business models, platforms and new market infrastructures. He has also advised strategic and private equity investors on technology trends to help them make more informed investment decisions in the capital markets arena.

David has been widely referenced in the press, including Bloomberg, Financial Times, and CNBC. He is a frequent speaker at industry events (SIBOS, ISITC, Trade Tech) and client roundtables in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, London, New York, and Tokyo

Before re-joining Celent, David was a director of strategy at Charles Schwab. Prior to this role, he held positions at Celent as an analyst and at brokerage firm Detwiler Fenton as a business and IT strategist. He has also held equity research roles at Raymond James & Associates and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey covering companies in the financial technology industry.

David received his BA and MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.
