Catherine Stagg-Macey
Catherine Stagg-Macey is Senior Vice President responsible for Celent’s European insurance practice and is based in the London office. She has spent almost 20 years in the technology industry as a management consultant and analyst. As the first European Celent team member focused on insurance, she has considerable experience in the UK and European markets in advising insurers and vendors on investment strategies. Her comments on insurance and technology have appeared in a wide range of press publications in the US, UK, and Middle East. She is also a judge for the Insurance Times Technology Awards (UK).
Ms. Stagg-Macey's research focuses on IT strategy issues for the UK and European insurance sector. Her recent research work has focused on the core general insurance vendor landscape, legacy modernization, CIO agenda, location intelligence, and social networking.
Recent consulting clients have engaged Ms. Stagg-Macey for package selection, private equity due diligence, and market entry strategies in markets as diverse as United Kingdom and South Africa. She is a frequent tweeter, blogger, and adopter of new technology, believing research should happen at home as well as work.
Prior to joining Celent, Ms. Stagg-Macey was a Senior Consultant at ATOS KPMG Consulting in London and South Africa. In this role, she worked on the development of IT strategy and advised clients on outsourcing, data warehousing, and the selection of software packages. Previously Ms. Stagg-Macey was an internal strategy consultant for Marsh in London. She was responsible for delivering IT strategy and managing relationships with the European Management Board. She has also held project delivery roles at Marsh and Investec Bank Limited in South Africa.
Ms. Stagg-Macey earned her BSC in Computer Science in Management from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.
