Octavio
Marenzi is the founder and CEO of Celent.
Mr. Marenzi has
advised many of the top financial institutions in the world on their
business and technology strategies. He has managed strategy consulting
projects for clients around the globe. Mr. Marenzi has
written and spoken extensively about the financial services industry,
and is a popular speaker at conferences in North America, Japan, Europe and Latin
America.
Mr.
Marenzi has been quoted extensively in the press, including
The Economist, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles
Times, New York Times, New York Post, Business Week, Chicago Tribune,
Boston Globe, and
Washington Post. In addition, he has appeared on international TV on
CNBC's MarketWrap,
and ABC's BusinessNow.
Before
founding Celent, Mr. Marenzi was a co-founder of Meridien
Research, where he was the research director of their e-financial
services practice. Previously, he was the head of IT planning for the
asset management division of the Union
Bank of Switzerland in Zurich, the world's largest asset manager. At
UBS, he was responsible for planning IT projects in the areas of
portfolio management, brokerage, mutual funds and custody. Previously at
UBS, Mr. Marenzi was the project manager of customer information
systems.
Mr.
Marenzi has also worked as a management consultant for Booz,
Allen & Hamilton's Financial Services Group in Europe and North
America. He received his BS and MS from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. Mr. Marenzi is fluent in English, German
