Matthew
Josefowicz, based in the firm's Boston office, is
managing director of Celent's global
insurance group. Mr. Josefowicz’s research focuses on
e-business, IT infrastructure, and IT management strategies for insurers,
as well as general industry trends.
He is
the primary author of Celent's annual insurance CIO survey, and has
written and presented extensively about the importance of data as a
strategic asset. His recent consulting work involves advising CIOs
and IT planning teams on issues ranging from multinational IT strategy
to vendor selection.
Mr.
Josefowicz has been widely quoted in the press, including the New
York Times, Financial Times, Wall
Street Journal, USA Today, CBS Marketwatch, The
Associated Press, The Daily Deal, Risk & Insurance, and Best's
Review, among others. He
has written columns for Insurance
Networking News, Insurance & Technology, and
National Underwriter.
He is
a frequent presenter at industry conferences in the US and Europe,
including those sponsored by ACORD, LOMA, IASA, A.M. Best, and others. He
presented at ACORD's inaugural UK conference, and was an invited outside
speaker for Insurance & Technology's Executive Forum. He has also
been a member of the nominating board for I&T's Elite 8 award,
and a judge for A.M. Best's E-Fusion award.
Prior
to joining Celent, Mr. Josefowicz covered e-financial services as an
in-house analyst for D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P., one
of the world's largest hedge funds. He was an early team
member of D. E. Shaw’s online brokerage unit, FarSight Financial
Services, where he served in a variety of roles, including hiring,
managing FarSight’s marketing efforts, and overseeing technical and
regulatory issues.
Mr.
Josefowicz graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, where
he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. |
