Chad
Hersh is a senior analyst within Celent’s insurance practice.
Mr. Hersh's current research focuses on e-business and core IT
systems strategies for insurers, as well as emerging insurance
technologies.
He
is the author of numerous reports on policy administration trends and
vendors in the US, and has written and presented extensively on the
importance of selecting the right solution for replacement or
consolidation of existing systems. Recent consulting work has
included helping insurance carriers select the right policy
administration system for their needs.
Mr.
Hersh has been widely quoted in the press, including Dow Jones,
the Associated Press and ABC. He has authored articles for
The National Underwriter, Claims Magazine, Technology
Decisions, and Synygy Magazine. He is a frequent
presenter at industry events, including those sponsored by ACORD, LOMA,
LIMRA, IASA, National Underwriter, Strategic Research Institute, and
others. He is also a judge for IASA's 2006 Technology Achievement
Award.
Prior
to joining Celent, Mr. Hersh was the e-Business Director at AIG
American General in Houston, where he built and managed the
e-business department for the domestic life insurance division. His
primary responsibilities were strategy and planning, in addition to a
number of project implementations. He had previously served as the
enterprise e-Business Director for American General Financial Group.
Mr.
Hersh's background is in IT consulting. He spent several years at Luminant
Worldwide, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and Cap
Gemini Ernst & Young LLP. He has worked for many Fortune 100
clients on projects ranging from e-business strategies to application
development to business requirements and analysis.
Mr.
Hersh earned a Master of Accounting degree with an MIS concentration as
well as a BA in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University. He
is also a part-time faculty member at Rice, where he has taught
undergraduate courses in consulting and e-business.
