Lauren Bender is the
manager of the Retail Securities & Investments group and is based in the firm’s New York office. Ms. Bender’s expertise lies
in retail brokerage and emerging technologies. She brings 18 years of
experience in financial services, technology, and consulting to Celent.
Ms. Bender has been
widely quoted in the media, including Los Angeles Times, Reuters,
Bloomberg, Investment News, Financial News, and Registered
Rep.
Before joining Celent,
she co founded Reactive Network Solutions, an Internet security
firm. In this role she developed a product strategy plan targeting
financial services firms. Previously, she was the e-commerce manager for
the International Netcenter at Netscape Communications.
Before working at
Netscape, she was the director of electronic brokerage product development
at Charles Schwab, where she created some of the company's earliest
online brokerage offerings. She has also worked for Wells Fargo Bank,
where she was the senior project manager for the bank's 401(k) product and
the product manager for electronic funds transfer. Ms. Bender also worked
for Reuters in London, where she was responsible for product
strategy and worldwide sales for Reuters' UK bond market product line. In
addition, she has taught marketing at the European School of Economics
in Paris and at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Ms. Bender received her
MBA from Harvard University and her BA from Duke University,
where she graduated magna cum laude. She is fluent in English and French.
