Bill Fearnley, Jr. is a Senior Analyst in Celent’s Securities and Investments group and is based in the firm’s Boston Office. Mr. Fearnley’s areas of expertise were developed through his experience in the financial services and technology industries.
Before joining Celent, Mr. Fearnley spent more than eight years as a sell side financial equity analyst covering enterprise hardware for Janney Capital Markets and FTN Equity Capital. His analyst coverage and survey work included technologies such as mobile computing, servers and enterprise storage, virtualization, and cloud computing.
Mr. Fearnley has been interviewed and quoted by several financial news outlets such as CNBC and Bloomberg TV/Radio, as well as many print publications. Mr. Fearnley was recognized by The Wall Street Journal in May 2008 as a “WSJ Best on the Street” analyst in the Computers & Office Equipment category.
Before becoming a sell side analyst, Mr. Fearnley worked in the technology sector in a variety of OEM and technology channel sales and marketing management positions. His experience includes channel sales management at Apple Computer; PC and server product marketing management at PC Connection; and management of the server and storage provisioning business unit for NaviSite, a leading web hosting provider.
Mr. Fearnley received his MBA from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business/Babson College and is a graduate of Babson College with a BS in Marketing.
