In a new report, Core P/C Claims Systems
Vendors 2006, Celent looks at 16 P/C Claims solutions from 14 vendors.
The report features Celent’s ABCD Vendor View. The ABCD Vendor View
presents a comparative view of the vendor marketplace that visually
represents four elements: Advanced technology and technical flexibility,
Breadth of functionality, Customer base, and Depth of client services.

Many insurers are considering upgrading
their core claims technology. The good news for these insurers is that
there are a number of very good systems—with broad functionality, good
connectivity, and modern technology—from which to choose. This report
profiles core property/ casualty claims system vendors and solutions. The
focus is on claims systems, with an established presence in the US, that
provide reasonably broad multi-line functionality for adjusters and claims
managers, and that integrate well with an insurer’s other internal
systems and with various external information providers and business
partners.
"If one looks over the claims
solutions profiled in this report, there is a lot to like," says Donald
Light, senior analyst and author of the report. "As a group,
they provide a broad range of features and functions to adjusters and
claims managers. Configuration to a particular insurer’s products and
processes is relatively easy. Many systems provide some form of workflow
and rules capabilities for additional levels of control. All run on modern
platforms, work with several databases, offer multiple ways to integrate
with other programs and data sources, and provide users with a
browser-based interface (no more green screens)."
The 67-page report contains six figures and 40
tables.
